Distorting illusions are characterized by distortions of size, length, or curvature. A striking example is the Café wall illusion. Another example is the famous Müller-Lyer illusion. (Cafe Wall illusion above)
Distortion illusions basically just use size and curvy lines to make things look bendy or not straight even when they are or sometimes they make lines look longer or shorter than the other one when they are actually the same size..
These are both examples of the cafe illusion. It looks like the lines are bended but really the lines are parallel. It uses the placement of the things inside the lines and it is using distortion of to confuse the brain.
These two illusions really do look like the lines are two different sizes. But take another look or measure with your fingers or even a ruler they are actually the same size. It is just the different directions of the arrows that make them look like different sizes. This is an example of the Muller-Lyer Illusion
